Why I’m Running
As a dedicated advocate for our classroom heroes—educators and staff, I am thrilled to announce my candidacy for the State School Board. My decision to run stems from a deep-seated belief in the power of education and a firm commitment to ensuring that every child in our state has access to quality learning opportunities.
Here's why I'm running:
Equity in Education: I believe education is the great equalizer, and every child deserves an equal opportunity to succeed, regardless of their background or circumstances. I will work tirelessly to promote policies that level the playing field and address disparities in access to resources and opportunities.
Championing Public Education: Public education is the cornerstone of our democracy and the foundation of our society. I am dedicated to upholding and strengthening our public school system, ensuring that through robust public funding, our public schools remain beacons of opportunity for all students.
Empowering Educators: Our teachers and school staff are the backbone of our education system. I will advocate for policies that support and embolden educators, providing them with the resources, training, and support they need while removing barriers to learning, to help every student reach their maximum potential.
Fostering Innovation: In a rapidly changing world, our education system must evolve to meet the needs of the 21st century. I will work to foster innovation and creativity in our schools, supporting initiatives that prepare students for success in an increasingly complex and interconnected global society.
Listening to Constituents: I believe in the power of collaboration and community engagement. I will be a responsive and accessible representative, listening to the concerns and priorities of students, parents, educators, and community members, and working collaboratively to address them.
Building Stronger Communities: Strong schools are the heart of strong communities. I will work to build partnerships between schools, families, businesses, and community organizations, recognizing that we all have a stake in the success of our schools and our students.
In conclusion, I am running for the Kansas State School Board because I believe education is the key to unlocking opportunity and building a brighter future for our great state. With your support, I am confident that we can create positive change, attract and retain dedicated educators and staff in our public schools, and ensure that every child in Kansas has the chance to thrive. Thank you for your consideration, and I humbly ask for your vote.
